We are wrapping up our research papers. Students have had several weeks of In-Class time to research, write and type their papers. Tomorrow is the final day to finish and hand in papers.

Yearbook orders are due FRIDAY, February 3, 2012.

Today we had our final visit from Ms. Stephanie Bickford, E.O. Smith Senior who is sharing her senior project on poetry and Langston Hughes with us. Today, Stephanie shared performance poetry and we wrote "Slam Poems." Please be sure to check out the eighth grade work site to see samples of student work.

We are going to wrap up the research paper unit soon and move into our novel, To Kill a Mockingbird. This is one of my favorite books and I am eager to share it with students. When we finish, we'll view the movie, so I ask that you do not watch the film ahead of time.

March brings CMTs! It's hard to believe that spring is nearly upon us!
