Grade 8: Today we reviewed some of the basic requirements of the research paper:
Introduction, Body, Conclusion
3 sources minimum (not Wikipedia)
Equivalent of 3-5 BODY pages typed using size 12 font (Times New Roman) and double spaced in Microsoft Word
Proper citations & bibliography
Spell checked
Grammar checked (punctuation, plurals, capital letters, complete sentences)
No use of “I” unless it is in a direct quote
No use of contractions unless they are in a direct quote
No use of slang
Margins: L: 1”, R: 1/2”, Top: 1”, Bottom: 1”
Next week we will begin using our Writer's Notebooks and return to Greek & Latin roots worksheets.
