Hello New Eighth Graders and Families!

I am really looking forward to another fantastic year of learning in eighth grade language arts. As you may recall, there were many exciting changes this summer and now you'll find us in room 24!

Test corrections due Friday-- anybody can do them, not only those who score 59% or below.

Wow! A Night at a Museum was FANTASTIC! Thanks so much to all the students who participated and the families who came to share.

Next week: Write Night! Please join us as seventh and eighth graders read aloud their original or much-loved written works. Friday, May 21 6:30PM in room 36 (my room!)

May and June journals are optional-- they will earn students extra credit.

Submissions and reading for Write Night will also earn students extra credit.

Call your child's homeroom teacher for a list of end-of-year events for eighth graders.

June- What do you want me to remember about you when you graduate?

May and June journals are optional. If you do not do them, it will not hurt you. If you do them, they will improve your grade.

Night at the Museum- May 13 (projects for language arts will earn you extra credit.)

Write Night- May 21 (presenting will earn you extra credit.)

Be sure to turn in your end-of-year field trip/picnic/dance permission slips by May 21.

Greek & Latin roots test has been shortened to fit the single block schedule this week. Students are only responsible for roots & vocab words (not the additional Latin/Greek within the definitions).

No April journal.

Midterms NEXT week. Please be sure you completed your WIKI assessment.

Night at the Museum postponed to May 13.

Write Night will be May 21.
